Include us, you can't eat the cream alone - COSATU to City of CT

accreditation

COSATU protested against Metrorail and the City of Cape Town on Tuesday demanding improved safety on public transport routes and a better service. Watch.

A recent spate of violent crime on the Metrorail, and workers being disciplined for late arrivals (due to faulty, vandalised or disrupted trains and routes) were among the grievances.

A memorandum handed over to City officials included demands for improved transport between rural towns and for MyCiti buses to service the Cape Flats and other other poor areas.

COSATU bemoaned ongoing spatial inequality as a result of apartheid, and accused the City of 'favouring' certain groups when it came to public transport.
