The rape trial of Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso is expected to resume in the Eastern Cape High Court in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.
On Monday, Omotoso's lawyer, Peter Daubermann, presented a litany of complaints about how the judiciary and Law Society of South Africa had failed to come to his defence while his clients fear for their safety.
Daubermann had also requested that Judge Mandela Makaula recuse himself over what he termed questionable judgments regarding the case, but the request was denied.
Omotoso and his two co-accused are currently facing 63 charges and 34 alternative charges which include rape, sexual assault and racketeering.
The first witness in the matter, Cheryl Zondi, 22, testified that Omotoso raped and sexually assaulted her from the age of 14.
