The 1st of September is often referred to as the '1st of Spring' for South Africans. Capetonians however, know this is not necessarily the case as the Mother City tends to take a lot longer to warm up compared to other parts of SA.

eNCA's Head of Weather, Candice McKechnie, explains why the Western Cape has 'longer winters' than the rest of the country.
