Rhodes University has promised to look into the events that led to the death of student Khensani Maseko.
The 23-year-old took her own life on Friday, August 3, after battling with depression following an alleged rape that is said to have occurred in May.
Rhodes University vice-chancellor Sizwe Mabizela lowered the institution's flag on Monday morning in commemoration of Maseko's death. The flag will fly at half-mast until her funeral on Thursday.
Students marched to Settlers Monument in Makhanda on Tuesday in memory of the third-year student.
Following the march, students engaged with university management as well as the institution's student representative council on the issue of sexual violence.
