Lerato Mboyane, a clinical regional manager for Dis-Chem and Dis-Chem Baby City, has found her true calling in the noble nursing profession.

With a remarkable career spanning over 10 years in primary healthcare, focusing on baby services and immunisation, Mboyane 's unwavering commitment to improving the lives of families and infants has made her an invaluable asset to the 30 clinics under her care.

Inspired by the caring nature of her mother's best friend, a midwife, Mboyane was drawn to nursing 14 years ago.

She completed her diploma in general, psychiatry, community, and midwifery, which laid the foundation for her to concentrate on primary and family healthcare, where she discovered her true purpose and passion.

Her extensive expertise and unwavering dedication have positioned her as a highly skilled clinician.

Continuously developing and executing comprehensive plans, she ensures the success of the clinics under her supervision, including those in Pretoria north & east, Rustenburg, Mafikeng, North-West, Brits and Hartbeespoort.

At the core of Mboyane's work lies a deep-rooted advocacy for patient satisfaction. She constantly seeks opportunities to enhance the quality of care provided, earning her trust and respect among her team.

Mboyane's innovative thinking and tireless efforts have spearheaded a comprehensive baby service drive through her clinics, significantly improving the health and well-being of infants in her community and increasing immunisation rates to safeguard children against preventable diseases.

Working collaboratively with the Dis-Chem Baby City team, Mboyane prioritises accessible primary healthcare for all. Together with other stakeholders, they have developed a plan that ensures community-wide accessibility.

With 491 clinic rooms across their in-store network, they offer day-to-day care across five main categories:

  • baby services
  • adult primary healthcare
  • female health
  • health assessments
  • sexual reproductive health

Mboyane has positioned the initiative as community resource, offering a variety of services to help parents on their journey.

It features a variety of parenting classes and workshops, covering topics such as breastfeeding, sleep training and child development.

They also have a lending library of books and resources, so parents can always have access to the latest information.
