Some Westgate Shopping Centre shoppers were up at 05:00 to be first in line for #BlackFriday discounts on Friday.

Hannah Chabaku spent R2500 at Checkers. She said Black Friday discounts help her prepare for Christmas.

"Black Friday is easy because things are cheaper," she told News24.

Martin Chauke, who arrived at 06.30, bought himself a 39-inch Telefunken TV at Game for R8999.

He added that he was very happy with his purchase and will be buying more.

Meanwhile in Port Elizabeth, a stampede ensued at the Game store in Baywest Mall.
